THURSDAY 9TH MARCH

Craic Den Comedy Club brings the best Irish and international comedians to the stage every week in Dublin city. As seen on their acclaimed TV show on Virgin Media, The Craic Den will deliver you a medicinal dose of laughs all evening long. New line up every week!

Joe Rooney

Arguably best known for his acting and in particular for playing Father Damo in the Channel 4 sitcom Father Ted, appearing in the episode “The Old Grey Whistle Theft”. Rooney had a starring role as Timmy Higgins in the RTÉ television comedy Killinaskully, which ran for five series. Joe also wrote on the fourth and fifth series of Killinaskully.

Joe currently hosts the podcast PodaRooney, on which he interviews guests who are mostly involved in the entertainment industry. Joe has performed stand-up worldwide, including New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Pittsburgh, Toronto, Shanghai, Beijing, Hong Kong, Barcelona, Brussels, Moscow, Muscat (Oman), Manama (Bahrain) and Dubai. He has also performed at Irish festivals in Kansas City (Missouri), Milwaukee and La Crosse (Wisconsin).

David Tsonos

If you want serious comedy, David Tsonos is not your man. With his friendly and confident persona, he intrigues everyone with his combination of banter and impulsive comments. His comedy stems from being the youngest of five boys, babysitting… his nephews and his cat.

David started off in Canada and, since making the UK his home, he has performed in over 15 countries.

He has appeared at numerous fringe festivals in the UK including Edinburgh, Glasgow, Bath and Hastings and has performed overseas gigs in Bucharest, Budapest, Malta, Amsterdam, Antwerp, Prague, Berlin, Guernsey, Oslo, Luxembourg, Belgium and now lucky for us he’s back in Ireland this week!

Becky Cheatle

Since taking up stand up comedy in 2018, Becky Cheatle has gone on to perform at The Dublin Fringe, Edinburgh Festival Fringe & The Paddy Power Comedy Festival, as well as creating the movie-themed comedy show Retro Vision & the Night of 100 Comedians stand up comedy marathon for Culture Night.

During lockdown she co-created the online comedy collective Hysteria, which has since become the Hysteria Comedy Club in Sin É / The Sugar Club, which she also co-runs. She’s directed & co-written the award winning short film Punch Line, and before she began stand up she was a comedy writer of some acclaim. However, her 50 years spent as a man received mixed reviews.

Brendan Burke

Brendan Burke gave up a career in microbiology to pursue life as a stand-up comedian, and has since become one of the finest and most experienced acts from the Emerald Isle. As a regular face on Irish television, he has appearanced in hugely successful comedy shows including ‘Father Ted’, ‘Don’t Feed The Gondolas’, ‘The X-It Files’ and ‘Liffy Laughs’.

Having spent years supporting household names including Patrick Kielty, Brendan O’Carroll and Pat Shortt, he has now progressed to packing out theatres and arts centres in his own right, gradually amassing a cult following along the way.

”Suddenly I realised I was in the hands of a master comedian” – The Guardian

MC Damo Clark

Aussie Damo Clark has become one of the hottest tickets in comedy clubs and festivals. Winner of the People’s Choice Award at the Edinburgh Fringe, his last solo show toured all over Ireland, the UK, Europe and Australia plus guest spots in the US.

Clark has featured in Comedy Central’s Damo Does Edinburgh, Irish TV’s Republic of Telly, I Dare Ya, Comedy Central’s Seann Walsh World and wrote and co-starred in Virgin Media’s Craic Den Comedy Club TV series.
